About the Company

Speech Remedy was founded in 2006 to provide cutting-edge multisensory materials to the Speech Language Pathology (SLP) community.  Speech Remedy's first product, SR-Cognition, is a complete therapeutic tool-set targeting adult (16 years and older) cognitive rehabilitation.  Since launching SR-Cognition, the company has released 8 supplemental card decks covering the areas of: Confrontational Naming, Problem Solving, Safety & Awareness, Categorization & Scanning and Sequencing (3-step, 4-step, 5-step and ADLs).  These photo card decks can be added seamlessly to the SR-Cognition kit or may be used stand alone.  In the years ahead, Speech Remedy will continue to develop additional resources targeted towards the SLP community. 

In 2008, Speech Remedy launched a job board focused on providing employment resources for Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) and Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates.  Powered by SimplyHired, the world's largest search engine for jobs, SLP JOBS is one of the most comprehensive job resources for SLPs and CFY candidates in the world.

In 2009, Speech Remedy launched SLP NEWS, an SLP-focused news site, to help keep the SLP community abreast of important updates on the industry. 

ABOUT THE FOUNDERS

Joanna (Light) Boyer, M.S., M.A. CCC-SLP Joanna holds a B.A. in psychology and linguistics from McGill University, an M.S. in cognitive psychology from UC, Santa Cruz and an M.A. in speech-language pathology from San Jose State University. Joanna is a practicing speech-language pathologist who currently works with pediatric and adult clients in acute, sub-acute, long-term care and home- and office-based settings throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Joanna has co-authored several articles pertaining to speech-language and hearing science in various peer-reviewed journals.

Terri Tarnoff Snyder, M.A. CCC-SLP Terri holds a B.A. in communication disorders from Temple University and an M.A. in speech-language pathology and audiology from San Diego State University.  Terri has over 27 years experience with evaluating and treating neurologically impaired adults in acute care, skilled nursing, home health and hospice care settings.  Terri is the director of Breakthrough, Inc., providing physical, occupational and speech therapy services for adults throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
